Position Title Education Adjunct Faculty Pool

FT/PT Part Time
Hours Per Week No more than 25 hours
Work Schedule Monday through Friday, Day and Evening classes
Position Salary Range See adjunct salary schedule below
General Responsibilities
Interested in teaching an Education course at HCC?

Teach a variety of 100-200 level classes including but not limited to Intro to Education, Educational Psychology, Methods and Materials in Early Childhood Education, Child Growth and Development and Process and Acquisition of Reading. Adjuncts typically teach up to two classes per semester.
Work Performed
The Education department at Howard Community College is seeking individuals to be included in a pool to hire adjunct (part-time) faculty for Education courses including but not limited to:

  • Child Growth and Development
  • Intro to Education
  • Educational Psychology
  • Process and Acquisition of Reading
  • Methods and Materials in Early Childhood Education


Candidates must be available to teach in-person classes. Candidates are expected to be familiar with using an online learning management system such as CANVAS, and should have proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity software.

  • A master's degree is required in Education or a related field.
  • Prefer prior teaching experience.
  • Experience teaching or training using a variety of modalities including online, in person and hybrid courses.
  • Experience using technology to deliver learning.
