Job Summary This individual will be responsible for maintaining and growing existing customer relationships and prospecting for new business development in the assigned territory for the Encoders business (Territory: TBD)
Job Description Essential Job Functions
- Create, maintain and exceed sales plans objectives & goals.
- Recruitment, development, and management of sales channels (reps, distributors, integrators & end users)
- Create and support sales programs particular to the assigned territory.
- Develop and maintain contact with key customers on an ongoing basis and develop customer proposals to increase business activity.
- Develop strong relationships with existing customers.
- Work with Product Marketing to execute marketing programs, lead follow-up.
- Develop new projects and opportunities based on customer requirements and interact with Marketing and R&D for new product developments.
Key Performance Metrics
- Achieve assigned sales quota for assigned territory.
- Develop new customers and maintain existing accounts as required using the ABC Account Planning process.
- Accomplish key MBO's concerning new product and market specific programs.
- Accomplish brand awarded with all major players in the territory
- Help define new product requirements for territory.
Learning Period Depending on experience:
- High experience person: 3-6 months
- Low experience person: 6-12 months
Working Conditions Home-based, travel up to 50% Education/License Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in the drive system/industrial automation and controls field. Specific knowledge of encoders and motion control a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve assigned budget and performance metrics.
(If possible, please bring your Sales reports to the interview) - Strategic selling skills (Multiple contacts in one same customer: sourcing, engineering, sales, logistics)
- Experience and proven success track record of managing channels (Reps and Distributors).
- Prospecting and business development experience is a plus
- Three years successful selling in heavy industry and OEM markets is a plus.
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in Sales or Territory Management is a plus.
