Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30 to 5:00 (Flexible)

Pay: $45,000 - $60,000

Job Summary

The focus for this position will be to identify material needs and execute the purchasing process to ensure the right amount of material arrives at the right time to support the needs of production. This position will be mentored by senior buyer and will report to the purchasing manager. The expectation of this position is that the candidate comprehends and performs all duties associated with the Buyer role within a 12-to-18-month period.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be trained to maintain daily purchasing activities.
  • Learn to create and maintain purchase orders for assigned material.
  • Team member in the procurement of materials for ETI, ACH, and Lakewood.
  • Understand purchase price variance and the impact that cost has on profitability.
  • Understands how to reduce material cost.
  • Ability to understand supply chain forecasting, stocking plans, bonds, etc.
  • Understands how to comply with current ISO standards and customer specific requirements as applicable.
  • Frequent interaction with internal and external customers including manufacturers, distributors, peer group members, and shop floor personnel.
  • Take initiative to manage and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Manager/ Senior Buyer.
  • Ability to perform all Buyer job duties within 12-18 months of accepting the position of Assistant Buyer.



Job Requirements

  • Ability to understand MRP, supply and demand, and inventory management (ROP, SS, EOQ)
  • 6 months of experience in electrical manufacturing
  • Communication and cross-functional collaboration
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and web browser software
  • Team oriented and personable, must be able to serve internal customers
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring all information is correctly entered and stored.
