Description

BASIC PURPOSE

Drives truck, van, or automobile over established route to deliver and collect food, toys and supplies/inner-office mail to assist Sacramento County Social Services with Christmas efforts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Drives DOT-regulated truck to pick up and deliver food, toys, supplies and inner-office mail to and from various Salvation Army facilities and community locations.
  2. Keeps accurate mileage records.
  3. Loads truck.
  4. Cleans inside of truck.
  5. Inspects vehicle regularly and reports necessary repairs to supervisor.
  6. Provides warehouse support in absence/presence of Family Services supervisor.
  7. Provides assistance to Family Services Supervisor with pick ups pertaining to Christmas programs.
  8. Maintains an organized and clean work environment.
  9. Adheres to agency's policies and procedures.
  10. Attends trainings as required by The Salvation Army.
  11. Acts as role model within and outside the agency.
  12. Maintains a positive respectful attitude.
  13. Communicates regularly with supervisor about property issues.
  14. Consistently reports to work on time, prepared to perform duties of position.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS



  1. Must be a person of high integrity, beliefs, and lifestyle, and in agreement with The Salvation Army's mission statement
  2. Ability to work independently and without daily immediate supervision
  3. Ability to work in a team environment, and multi-task required duties.
  4. Must be prepared to encounter a variety of assignments and timelines.
  5. Be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials and information.
  6. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and have an open, welcoming and helpful presence and attitude with all people.
  7. Ability to learn modern office procedures and equipment.
  8. Knowledge of The Salvation Army practices, policies and organizational resources.
  9. Must be punctual, organized, reliable, honest and responsible .
  10. Must possess a valid California Class C Driver License, and ability to drive a DOT-regulated Salvation Army vehicle
  11. Must be 21 years or older.
  12. Authorize The Salvation Army to add name to the CA DMV Pull Notice Program
  13. Complete The Salvation Army vehicle course training.
  14. Must pass annual Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis
  • Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects
  • Ability to reach overhead
  • Ability to lift up to 50-70 lbs. for positions that require lifting
  • Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information
