The Space Systems and Technology Division (Division 9) develops technology to meet the challenges of an increasingly congested and contested space domain by designing, prototyping, operating, and assessing systems that detect, track, identify, and characterize resident space objects. Given the potential for conventional conflict to extend to space, Division 9 conducts research and development on concepts and systems that will provide space mission resilience. Division 9 is seeking professional and experienced candidates for the Division Information Technology (IT) Manager position. The Division currently has 40 IT team members supporting over 450 staff members across 8 groups. The Division IT Manager will be an integral member of the Division management team, responsible for the strategy development and implementation of the Division's IT resources, which span a wide range of environments, from the unclassified enterprise, to laboratories and field test sites, to classified areas with special security requirements. This position will report to both the Division 9 Head (or designated Associate/Assistant) for daily direction and the Laboratory Chief Information Officer (CIO) for compliance with Laboratory IT Policy and participation in shaping the enterprise IT strategy. Candidate is the single point of accountability for Division IT management and is responsible for IT personnel career development. The candidate will work with minimal supervision and those reporting to a Division IT Manager may be individual contributors, or Team Leaders. The Division IT Manager will be a member of a Laboratory-wide IT Governance body led by the CIO. This Governance body will assist in shaping Laboratory-wide IT Policy and IT strategy. In addition, this governance body will be instrumental in contributing to defining and implementing of best-of-breed technology and leading practices. The Division IT Manager will work closely with the Information Services Department (ISD) and Security Services Department (SSD) departments. They will work collaboratively to support all information services projects that will advance the Department, Technical Division and Lincoln Laboratory strategic missions. The Division IT Manager must have demonstrated strong and effective analytical and decision-making abilities, and must have demonstrated an effective set of IT technical, management, leadership and relationship building skills. This position will maintain frequent contact with internal ISD and SSD personnel, the Division's user community, sponsor's IT and Security personnel, as well as external vendors, in order to be successful in leading and managing the Division's IT enterprise. Primary Duties: 1. Strategic Planning
* Leads the development and implementation of the infrastructure strategy, architecture, service delivery standards and procedures across the Division's IT enterprise, at all classifications and in all operating environments. Primary Duties: 2. Operational Management
* Responsible and accountable to the Division Head for the overall compliance posture of the Division, across all classifications and operating environments. Primary Duties: 3. Human Resource Management
* Provides motivational leadership for direct reports at all levels, from team leads to individual contributors, including resource planning, hiring, performance planning and development support; coaching and mentoring; rewards and recognition; and staff retention to develop a continuous improvement culture. * Executes or consults on all Division IT purchases to ensure effective and efficient operations and investments. Primary Duties: 5. Technology Management
* Maintain knowledge of current industry standards and trends regarding server and desktop technology, IT security, classified IT technologies, and the Division's business direction, to anticipate future infrastructure needs and identify proactive solutions to satisfy those needs. Required:
* Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field in combination with a minimum of 8 years significant, relevant work experience; or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of significant, relevant work experience. Desired:
* Master's Degree or other advance degree in information technology or related field or business.
