Job Summary

Investigate student, employee, and third-party reports of discrimination and harassment. Work collaboratively with the College community to ensure TCC remains in compliance with Federal, State, and local statutes and College policies.


Essential Duties

Investigate reports of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation under Title VI and VII, Title IX, ADA/504, and other applicable laws and regulations.

Prepare detailed, unbiased reports of investigations.

Provide resources to parties involved in investigations.

Provide training and resources to students and employees on prevention efforts to avoid discrimination, harassment and retaliation.

Maintain grievance files and other records regarding discriminatory practices.

Remain informed of current state and federal laws and regulations related to discriminatory violations.

Develop, review, and revise College non-discrimination and harassment policies and procedures.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Relations, Political Science, Social Foundations of Education, Human Resources or related area. Degree requirement may be substituted with relevant and equivalent work experience.

Knowledge of current issues in higher education, knowledge of the range of applicable laws and regulations that impact college policy in the areas of discrimination, harassment, and equal opportunity.

Three years experience generally gained from working in human resources, student affairs, and/or regulatory compliance.

Experience managing difficult, confidential, and sensitive issues.

Ability to gather and analyze data.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Experience working with individuals from all backgrounds.

ATIXA Investigator Certifications required in advance or within 6-months of employment.


Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Education, Human Relations, Political Science, Social Foundations of Education, Human Resources or related area. Degree requirement may be substituted with relevant and equivalent work experience.

Experience handling 504 and/or ADA complaints and appeals preferred.
