PurposeThe Young Lab (https://sites.utexas.edu/beccayoungevodevolab/) in the Department of Integrative Biology at UT Austin seeks a highly motivated and collaborative colleague to lead research focused on understanding the developmental and evolutionary processes driving phenotypic diversity in vertebrate systems. We use comparative developmental biology and genomics to investigate how genes (regulation, function, and sequence) contribute to convergence and diversification in complex traits (e.g., the evolution of reproductive ecology in frogs). The successful applicant will have a background in evolutionary, developmental, or organismal biology and possess field and lab-based skills to collaborate on the development of various experimental approaches to address these questions in vertebrate systems. This position offers a unique leadership role in a dynamic, collaborative, and growing lab, with ample opportunities to publish and contribute to the lab's strategic direction by leading independent research projects that integrate ecological, developmental, and molecular approaches. Preference will be given to candidates with significant experience in amphibian or avian developmental biology and natural history or other areas related to the Young Lab research program. Salary Range$60,000 + depending on qualifications Working Conditions
