The Division of Pharmacology & Toxicology in the College of Pharmacy at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor or tenured Associate Professor rank with a research focus in immunology, especially as it relates to neurology and/or cancer. Candidates working in the areas of environmental health, microbiome, aging, obesity, addiction, or toxicology are also encouraged to apply.

The University of Texas, College of Pharmacy is a top 10 U.S. college of pharmacy recipient of NIH research funding. We support a rich network of collaborators, research resources, and mentored career support to help build/strengthen their research programs. The University of Texas at Austin supports the Center for Biomedical Research Services that includes a variety of core facilities to support research. Opportunities for collaboration exist through the Center for Molecular Carcinogenesis and Toxicology, Livestrong Cancer Institutes, Interdisciplinary Life Sciences - CMB, Dell Medical School, the Center for Health & Environment, Education & Research as well as other centers and institutes on campus.

Qualifications

Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Toxicology, or closely related field with a strong record of vigorous research productivity, publications, and career stage appropriate funding. Candidates are also expected to deliver excellent teaching in core professional and graduate courses in Pharmacy, including the Ph.D. and Pharm.D. programs, develop a sponsored research program, supervise/mentor graduate students, collaborate with other faculty, and have a commitment to university and professional service. Additionally, evidence of an innovative research focus that builds on current programmatic strengths in the division will be given priority. We also expect a demonstrated commitment to student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities and experience with extramural grant applications and funding.
