Requisition ID req31030 Working Title Student Recruitment Specialist Position Grade 12 Position Summary Key Responsibilities:
Plan and execute marketing events and tabling sessions to promote the MSA program. Develop promotional materials and advisement forms to attract potential applicants, including high school students, undergraduate students, and second-career applicants. Travel to events and universities to represent the MSA program and meet with advisors, students, and career changers.
Conduct individual and group advisement sessions for potential applicants, including high school students, undergraduate students, and second-career applicants. Assist potential applicants in understanding the application process, program requirements, and career opportunities in anesthesia. Meet with potential applicants to discuss program fit, prerequisites, and the benefits of a career in anesthesia.
Provide ongoing advisement and support to current MSA students. Help students develop and follow personalized academic plans to ensure timely graduation. Create clinical requirement summaries and track students' progress to ensure they meet coursework and clinical requirements.
Collaborate with faculty, administration, and external partners to support student success initiatives. Travel to and meet with advisors at other universities and high schools to establish and maintain strong referral networks. Coordinate shadowing opportunities at UNM for potential applicants.
Develop and implement strategies to improve student retention and success rates. Regularly assess and enhance advisement processes and tools to better serve students. Participate in continuous professional development to stay informed about best practices in student advisement and success strategies. See the Position Description for additional information. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree; at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications Preferred Qualifications: * Master's degree in education, counseling, or a related field. * Experience working as an advisor in an academic setting, preferably within healthcare or science programs. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders. * Proven organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. * Willingness to travel to represent the MSA program at various events and institutions.
