What we offer:

  • This is a part-time seasonal role.

Job Functions: This position is responsible for the daily operation and management of the Food Storage Warehouse.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain multiple inventory systems within the warehouse.
  • Track and monitor daily food donations.
  • Monitor and Track quantity of weekly and bi-weekly food deliveries to the Outreach Department in Tampa and Pasco campus.
  • Record and track all transactions within the warehouse using the necessary requisitions, invoices, and shipping documents. Review all incoming food products and determine usability within the organization. Ensure the accountability of all incoming donation's using inventory software.

2. Perform daily safety inspections on forklift.

3. Deliver office supplies throughout the ministries on a designated delivery schedule.

4. Build daily food boxes to include restocking Outreach as required. Pick up empty barrels and crates from Food Services and Outreach area; collect and stack unbroken pallets from Food Services and the Thrift Store.

5. Supervise and manage volunteers and resident interns within the warehouse. Provide instruction and guidance concerning assignments.

6. Secure warehouse and maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility grounds. Responsible for ensuring the food warehouse is rodent-free using pest control.

7. Pick up and break down cardboard boxes from Warehouse and Outreach area.

8. Meet personal goals and actively contribute to the achievement of the team and organizational goals as stated on the Balanced Scorecard and in the annual plan. Support the team in other tasks as assigned. Support the Holiday Center, Bridge Builders Luncheon, and other fund raising events as directed.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or GED completed; Minimum of two years warehouse/inventory experience. Must be able and certified to operate a forklift; Must possess a valid Florida Drivers license and be able to operate a motor vehicle weighing up to 2.5 tons.

Skill Requirements:

This position requires the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary framework; must be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office. Must be willing to be cross-trained and utilized throughout the Operations department. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, orally as well as in writing. Must demonstrate a heart for the ministry of serving poor and homeless families. The position requires a degree of maturity, sensitivity to issues of faith, cross cultural and diversity issues, and the social skill to handle job-related matters in a professional and diplomatic manner. Requires strong managerial skills and the ability to supervise both individual and group volunteers. Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients, staff, and volunteers.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to tolerate outdoor temperatures consistent with Florida climate and endure prolonged standing/walking/bending/stooping and stretching. Must be able to relocate materials in a safe and proper manner. Must be able to climb ladders and stairs regularly. Must be able to calculate mathematical equations as needed for inventory control. Must have adequate hearing and speaking ability as to take part in and provide sound oral communication and information. Must have the physical, emotional, and spiritual stamina to handle job-related issues and stress. Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more.

Other:

Must demonstrate legal authorization to work in the United States and pass applicable pre-employment background screening procedures. Must be able to work flexible schedules during the holiday season (October-December) and special events. Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Valid FL drivers license with a good driving record and insured vehicle in order to transport self and clients when necessary.
