Being a digital-only bank, any client interaction with RBC Bank requires a digital interface or application, all of which are owned and built by the digital team.

The Senior Business Analyst role sits within the overall Digital team and will support the management of existing product backlog to the Product Owners owning our acquisition channels and Online Banking.

This high visibility role will include research, analysis, documentation, and validation of scope, business process, and business requirements meeting business needs. What will you do?

  • Work with the Product Owner to identify and understand project scope, business goals, product functionality and desired features and act as a proxy Product Owner when the PO is unavailable
  • Lead discussions to capture story updates from a subset of the team, as a minimum, PO, Tech Lead and Design (IxD) Lead by leading pre-refinement sessions
  • Ensure a sufficient number of stories meet Definition of Ready and have been prioritized for Planning
  • Spearhead the sprint in JIRA with agreed scope (scrum) and document detailed user stories in JIRA / Confluence
  • Analyze and document Business Rules associated to a story in Confluence and link to it in JIRA
  • Develop and execute test scripts to support Post Implementation Validation

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 5+ years working as a Business Analyst and/or Business Systems Analyst in a digital or client focused industry
  • 5+ years analyzing and documenting business rules associated to a story in Confluence and linking it to JIRA
  • Skilled writing user stories, business and systems specification, business context diagrams and business process maps
  • Experience working on Digital (Online and Mobile) projects
  • History of developing "To-Be" processes, documenting identified policy and procedure gaps and a plan to implement the future state

Nice-to-have

  • Experience working in a banking or financial institution
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) Certification
  • Experience liaising with third party providers
