Description

Under the direction of Consumer Lending Operations management, the Home Secured Loan Processor is responsible for enhancing the credit union's profitability by providing support for processing and funding of all home equity loan products such as Express Mortgages, Fixed Term Home Equity Loans, and Home Equity Lines of Credit. This position is fast-paced and assists members in a quick turn time and provides excellent member service.


Essential Functions

  1. Process consumer home secured loans

    1. Complete Early Disclosures for Express Mortgages, Home Equity Loans and Home Equity Lines of Credit in a timely manner and in compliance with regulations.
    2. Complete Closing Disclosures for Express Mortgage and Home Equity Loans in a timely and accurate manner/within compliance with regulations
    3. Prepare consumer loan documents for consumer home loan products (Fixed Term (Express Mortgages, Home Equity Loans), Home Equity Line of Credit Loans)
    4. Review Title reports, appraisals, property valuations, flood determination, and homeowners insurance to ensure the credit union is in a secure position.
    5. Manages personal queues independently.
    6. Process loans based on priority need keeping member experience at forefront.
    7. Set up member closings and provide closing instructions to member and lender.
    8. Process DocuSign loans: call members to go over terms of loan, repayment options, and documents.
    9. Request Subordinations and Satisfactions from external companies


  2. Funding Consumer Home Loans

    1. Review closing loan documents to ensure completeness and compliance to complete the funding process on Express Mortgage, Home Equity Loans and Home Equity Lines of Credit.
    2. Book and fund Express Mortgages, Home Equity Loans, and HELOCs
    3. Mail or Wire any applicable payoff check(s) and payoff letters
    4. Set up monthly internal transfers and ACH
    5. Record all Mortgage documents


  3. Consistently keep operational efficiencies in mind
  4. Consistently meet metric measures set forth by manager
  5. Follow all processes/procedures to keep in compliance with SCU policies and procedures, and applicable laws
  6. Answer Home Secured Processing hunt group calls to assist with front line & member questions



Additional Functions

  1. Assist with additional projects and other duties as assigned by departmental leadership
  2. Complete trainings as assigned by Credit Union
  3. Disburse Mail
  4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to different areas of Consumer Operations daily/weekly
  5. Basic mathematical skills required




    Job Specifications



    1. Minimum combined two years experience in at least two of the following areas: financial environment, mortgage processing, lending, retail, or relevant business/customer service setting
    2. Associate degree preferred
    3. Ability to obtain NMLS number is required
    4. Requires the ability to follow-up on problems presented to members and coworkers using a customer service approach including use of investigative problem solving
    5. Basic Knowledge of laws and regulations that of Consumer Lending
    6. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
    7. Understand RESPA/TRID, flood, and Reg Z as they apply to lending



    Physical Demands of Position

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to sit or stand at a desk, use hands and fingers. The employee occasionally must reach above and below shoulder level, and lift/push/pull and/or carry up to 10 pounds.


    Environmental/Working Conditions

    Works in a typical administrative setting with climate control and appropriate lighting. Saturday hours required on a rotational basis.
