Sonographer Vascular Job Code: US3615 PRN Schedule: Includes weekdays, weekends, holidays, and on Call as needed by department. JOB TYPE Classification: Nonexempt Supervises Positions: No JOB SUMMARY Work in consort with the radiologists and other specialists to obtain high quality ultrasound images and provide exceptional patient care. Patient Care: Ensures patient safety and comfort while in the radiology department.
Compliance: Follows and supports OSHA regulations and uses universal precautions when required.
Teamwork: Works within a team to achieve patient and team goals.
Technical Competency: Follows routine standards and properly and safely manipulates equipment, within its limitations, to obtain images.
The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Experience: 1 year of experience in Vascular Sonography preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details. Licensure: ARRT RT(S), ARDMS, or CCI certified or Board eligible required. RVT or RVS required within the first year of employment. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written communications. Ability to work in a stressful environment. Ability to multitask and prioritize quickly. Ability to perform diagnostic procedures and to meet the specific needs of various patient age groups: neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: N/A PHYSICAL DEMANDS Physical Demand Code: 13A, Imaging Work Function/Activity: Medium to Heavy Physical Demand The job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs.
