Job Overview
The incumbent will expedite material from a variety of vendors to our warehouse and to specific jobsite locations. The Expediter performs a variety of receiving and warehousing duties requiring an understanding of the Government and Chugach Property management and storage including receiving and issuing materials through a computerized inventory system. Work Model: Onsite
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Receives and issues materials through a computerized inventory system.
- Accept materials from vendors by receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies.
- Routes materials to prescribed locations.
- Verifies incoming shipment deliveries against delivery ticket to find, report, verify and correct shipment discrepancies while in the presence of the transporting party.
- Organizes, arranges, and inventories stored materials to maintain integrity of overall supply system and records.
- Based on specific guidance, examines stored materials to determine deterioration or damage that may result in actual loss of property.
- Operates hand truck and/or forklift to move material from one area to another.
- Performs all work in a safe manner in accordance with safety practices and procedures.
- Plans, organizes work and meets all deadlines.
- Assists other department staff as needed or directed.
- Assists personnel to obtain the correct inventory stock number(s).
- Helps perform periodic stock inventories and prepare material requisitions for replacement items as required.
- Performs various lower classified duties such as (but not limited to) file maintenance, workspace cleanup, maintain warehouse space and telephone answering as required.
- Coordinates with other trade and warehouse personnel in the identification of proper and correct materials, parts assemblies and requirements for a variety of requisitions necessary for the job/task.
- Adheres to the established safety and personnel policies and standard operating procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED).
- Two (2) year of supply and/or warehouse experience.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage conflicting priorities and to accomplish a variety of tasks in any single day.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic understanding/knowledge of hazardous, safety and environmental warnings.
- Familiarity with basic mathematical functions.
- Knowledge and ability to use hand and power tools.
- Ability to acquire and maintain government identification/common access card.
- Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
- Valid state Driver's License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
- Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).
