About you

As the Senior Building Engineer, you are a technical and engineering expert, familiar with maintenance systems and equipment. You bring strong organizational skills, a customer-centric approach, and a positive outlook to everything you do.

You'll be responsible for all preventative maintenance, necessary maintenance, and repairs to the buildings mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems, ensuring the maintenance systems are running efficiently - and to ensure the safety of our clients and their properties. You will respond to client requests, prioritize, and assign work orders to be performed by Building Engineers, and follow up to ensure minimal downtime. You are familiar with the location and have a working knowledge of life safety, fire protection and security systems to ensure proper operations and be able to act upon any conditions that are out of the ordinary.

You also understand how to develop and maintain strong relationships with property managers, suppliers, and department leaders. And with a keen eye for details, you'll be able to successfully manage multiple priorities and reports, including inventory, records, and schedules.

In this role, you will...

  • Respond and resolve facility maintenance trouble calls.

  • HVAC Maintenance & repairs and periodic maintenance schedule

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all plant equipment, physical structure, and associated equipment (i.e., painting, dry wall repair, hardware replacements, etc.).

  • Perform physical plant oil and chemical analysis and treatment.

  • Perform fire and safety equipment inspection and keep proper records.

  • Keep and maintain comprehensive records of work performed, digital and hard copy

  • Understand DDC software, cold and hot water loop systems and VAV controls.

  • Demonstrated experience in reading and interpreting complex blue prints.

  • Electrical maintenance, including ballast repairs, replacements, and general interior and exterior lighting repairs.

  • Plumbing maintenance, including repair clogs, leaks, and general plumbing repairs.

  • Maintenance and repairs of rolling gates and roll up doors.

What you'll bring

  • At least 5-10 years or more experience as a stationary engineer or 5-10 years HVAC experience in laboratory or hospital setting.

  • Mechanical - HVAC maintenance requires EPA certification.

  • Able to understand and maintain, boilers, chillers, pumps and associated equipment

  • Evaluate building operation and systems and recommend appropriate changes.

  • Able to understand DDC controls, low voltage, and equipment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel)

  • Flexibility to be on-call to respond to after-hours / weekend emergency requests and travel

  • A valid driver's license

  • Clear motor vehicle record (MVR)
