Position Summary

The Corporate Services group within Engineering Solutions at TCW is looking for a Workday Financials Engineer, as we are currently implementing Workday Financials and supporting modules to replace its current Financial Management System. The Workday Financials Engineer will be the subject matter expert when it comes to Workday and will be critical in providing on-going support and enhancing the Workday platform. They'll also be responsible for automating and improving system processes, workflows, and reporting to maximize efficiency and improve user experience. In addition, they'll support and configure changes in Workday, advanced reporting, analytics, business processes, integrations, and security configuration. They should have hands-on experience in managing, supporting, and configuring Workday.

The Workday Financials Engineer will be responsible for automating and improving system processes, workflows, and reporting to maximize efficiency and improve user experience. In addition, they'll be responsible for supporting and configuring changes in Workday, advanced reporting, analytics, business processes, integrations, and security configuration.

The Workday Financials Engineer, while inherently technical, must possess professionalism and excellent communication and presentation skills as there will be ongoing interaction with business users to gather requirements and identify solutions, as well as TCW's Senior Leadership.



Essential Duties

    Provide day to day operational support and maintenance of Workday, including researching issues, unexpected results, or process errors and recommend solutions.
  • Document requirements, business workflows, system integrations and ensure all documentation is up to date.
  • Manage and support 3rd party integrations (Positive Pay, Concur, FITS, data loads, etc.).
  • Participate in the planning and execution of Workday projects, including system upgrades and new module implementations.
  • Identify future Workday system enhancements or functionality that may be beneficial to the firm.
  • Execute functional system integration testing as needed.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements.
  • Keep up to date with Workday releases, features, and best practices.
  • Perform Workday administrative functions such as setting up and maintaining organization structures, security, business process configurations, tenant configuration, data loads, and reporting.
  • Creating, Configuring and Maintaining reports and dashboards on Workday.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Workday Financials, HCM or other relevant Workday modules (Projects, Prism, Adaptive, etc.).
  • Experience configuring Workday based on gathered requirements.
  • Experience as Workday Business System Analyst or similar role.
  • Proficient in Workday report writing, dashboards, and creating calculated fields with strong knowledge of Workday Security.
  • Demonstrating understanding of financial accounting principles.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in the financial industry, preferably in investment management.
  • Workday Pro accreditation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting, data entry and computer work.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear.

Working Conditions: Work is in office setting

Estimated Compensation:

Base Salary: For CA based position, the base salary range is $120K to $140K. This is an anticipated range for base salary only.

Other Compensation: Eligible to be considered for an annual discretionary bonus.
