From your PASSION to ours

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the quality of incoming raw materials as well as ensuring RSCP (Reception, skimming, pasteurization, and concentration) processes meet the internal quality standards of the company. This role maintains close working relationships with other department managers and supervisory personnel in order to meet and maintain product quality, identify, solve and prevent problems affecting product quality, maximize productivity, and comply with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Provide expertise and leadership in the Quality programs.
  • Assist with the successful commercialization of new products through communication with R&D.
  • Maintain specifications and ensure regulatory compliance is met; assist in addressing deviations as required.
  • Leads the investigation of supplier issues and addresses them according to the investigating and addressing supplier issues.
  • Assist in sanitation investigations and provide support in the corrective action process.
  • Assist in training by providing statistical techniques, quality awareness, and GMP's to improve overall plant quality and sanitation knowledge.
  • Partner with Operations to troubleshoot and problem solve issues in an effort to prevent faulty products and consumer complaints.
  • Assist in administering the weight control program to make sure the site is in compliance with QP and regulatory requirements.
  • Partners with the management team to ensure legality, employee and product safety, and environmental and quality systems.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance of all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), all safety, and all regulatory requirements. Addresses non-compliance appropriately and ensures corrective actions are identified and enforced.
  • Partner with the laboratory work team; provide assistance to other work areas to accomplish necessary laboratory functions.
  • Keep informed about changes in laboratory and department procedures, ensures proper training is conducted.
  • Assist in Quality audit preparation by performing internal audits.
  • Works closely with Quality and Operations team members to troubleshoot and problem issues.
  • Develop productivity strategies that effectively lower controllable costs of quality labor and operating supplies.
  • Maintain assigned compliance programs in an audit ready manner.
  • Provide technical support for developing and implementing capital projects.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and promote GLP's in Laboratory and Office Areas.
  • Participate in process improvement projects and cross-training initiatives.
  • Accountable for the QRMP (Quality Risk Management Process) standards as outlined in the plant's QRMP accountability document, including the implementation, improvement and ongoing maintenance.
  • Manage, train, and develop direct reporting team members through mentoring, coaching and coordination of individual development plans. Provide performance feedback on an ongoing basis. Partner with HR on employee relations issues.
Requirements

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or other technical field is required.
  • 3+ years' experience in dairy production and/or food industry is required; dairy experience is preferred.
  • 3+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Strong desire to train, coach, and develop others to improve performance
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide array of plant personnel ranging from hourly employees to senior leadership.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, specifically Excel.
  • Must be flexible to work all shifts.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage projects in a changing, complex environment.
  • Must exhibit initiative and demonstrate good follow-up.
  • Must be able to understand production/quality interface to prevent quality problems.
  • Must be able to perform duties without direct supervision and be detail oriented.
