Assistant Director of Admission
Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Management & Dean of Admission, the Assistant Director of Admission is responsible for all aspects of the admission recruitment cycle within an assigned geographic recruitment territory. Responsible for interpreting the mission of the College to external constituencies to include prospective students, guidance and other school personnel, parents, alumni and independent consultants. Responsible for meeting recruitment goals within the assigned territory. Participates in a wide variety of admissions functions to include travel, interviews, analysis and review of applications, interviewing, personalized follow-up, telemarketing and social media activities. Work closely with other College departments, represent the Admission Office on campus wide committees. Assist with mentoring of newer admission counselors. Represent Curry College at regional/national conferences. This position requires flexible evening and weekend hours and the ability to travel.
Essential Functions:
1. Recruitment:
- Assist the Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Management & Dean of Admission with determining appropriate travel plans, itinerary within travel and budgetary guidelines as it relates to the recruitment of traditional First-Year students from an assigned recruitment territory;
- Plan and execute travel for recruitment purposes to include high school visits, college nights and college fairs. Recruit prospective students to the College through attendance at college fairs, transfer fairs and other on and off-campus programs.
- Develop new and manage key referral relationships with college advisors, guidance counselors, educational consultants, and other constituencies directly supporting the college search process for students;
- Organize on and off campus events and conduct presentations about the College and the admission process
- Generate reports to help guide the recruitment activities within an assigned recruitment territory
- Responsible for all external communication to parents or prospective students, students, guidance personnel.
- Respond to all student, parent, guidance counselor inquires or requests regarding college admission requirements, programs and other related matters pertaining to application to the College. Assure that communications are accurate and timely.
- Determine when to correspond to students or refer to other constituencies on campus to include faculty, coaches, staff or current students.
- Lead the coordination and/or contribute to the success of various student visit programs designed to recruit targeted prospective applicants to the College.
- Manage ongoing strategic communications with high school and independent counselors, including email, print, and other social media.
2. Facilitate the Admission Process for First-Year Students:
- Interview and follows-up with prospective students, assist in the completion of applications, communicate and follow up regarding missing documents and evaluate applications to determine acceptance, denial or referral to Committee for further review;
- Responsible for data entry of application decisions when appropriate;
- Participate in new student orientation programs;
- Communicate admission decision with applicants;
Additional Functions:
- Strong customer service, written and oral communication skills, and the ability to forecast and strategically use data to plan accordingly.
- Assist in the coordination of on-campus recruiting events and activities
- Assist with recruitment activities for all student constituencies as needed
- Represent the Admission Office on campus-wide committees
- Interpretation of the College mission to external constituencies
- Participate in Industry related associates
- Respect and maintain confidentiality, parameters of operation, professional protocols, and individual privacy.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor of his/her designee.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of progressive admission experience.
- Commitment and comfort with digital communication available for recruitment purposes
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to communicate with various constituencies including prospective students, parents, referral sources and colleagues
- Ability to multi-task and make independent judgement
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite/computer applications and all social media platforms
- Understanding of new and emerging technologies as they relate to recruitment
- Ability to travel to remote locations and to load and transport admission materials, displays and other equipment.
- Ability to work nights and weekends when required
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree; experience with Admission/Recruitment; experience working with multiple constituencies at the college level regarding articulation agreements
- Knowledge of student populations and changing demographics
- Banner experience
- Salesforce or comparable CRM experience
Salary Range:
$56,000 to $58,000 annually
