Position Summary

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity where you can share your passion for industry while being on the cutting edge of technology? We are seeking an Applications Engineer I to support our Commercial Operations team within the Couplings Division. The Applications Engineer I is responsible for performing specific engineering and analytical tasks directed toward the proper application and selection of Regal Rexnord Products. This position will focus on our couplings vertical market.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and solves problems presented by customers, customer service, manufacturing, quality, sales, and engineering.

  • Responsible for knowing the Regal Rexnord brand coupling products from top to bottom, inside and out.

  • Works with customers to determine the best coupling for their application, complete technical bids, support customer training, support product failure/troubleshooting, and be the subject matter expert for technical support.

  • Partners with manufacturing to determine machining, balancing and material requirements and interacts with various areas of the company in obtaining information for quotations.

  • Re-rates and modifies existing Coupling designs.

  • Analyzes and determines feasibility of design modifications and/or non-standard configurations.

  • Coordinates project inquiries and quotations, which may include a multitude of Regal Rexnord Products

  • Provides review and analysis of customer & industry technical specifications and applications to provide product selection with necessary options and accessories.

  • Develops and follows standard procedures to facilitate scalable commercial & technical support.

  • Provides support for field representatives that will facilitate receipt of orders.

  • Assists in training field representatives.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Minimum of 0-2 years of relevant experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology or related field.

  • Ability to learn and become familiar with AGMA, DIN, ISO, ANSI, API, ASTM, including many other industrial standards used by Regal Rexnord and the Regal Rexnord customer base.

  • Ability to accurately read and interpret Regal Rexnord drawings and customer drawings, including design prints and customer specifications.

  • Computer proficiency in MS Office, Salesforce.com or other CRM, SAP/Oracle, or other ERP.

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to be an active listener who is customer oriented.

  • Some domestic travel may be required.

  • Previous engineering experience working in heavy equipment industries preferred.

  • Experience with couplings or related power transmission equipment is highly desired.
