Daikin Applied is seeking an Engineering Supervisor. The Engineering Supervisor is a working leader who directs and coordinates activities of a team within the Engineering Department to design, manufacture, and test components, products, and systems by performing the following duties listed below personally and/or through subordinates. Location: Plymouth, MN - Onsite

What you will do:



  • Direct team activities to deliver Engineering deliverables on-time, on-cost, and on-specification
  • Resolve technical problems using solutions that involve new techniques, technologies, or concepts
  • Analyze technology trends and customer demand to plan projects
  • Provide input to the operating costs of department in preparation of budget forecasts
  • Provide clarity and example for interpretation and application of company policies and procedures to the engineering activities
  • Provide leadership, conflict resolution and consensus management among employees
  • Maintain a working knowledge of new technologies which may improve operations and develops recommendations accordingly
  • Maintain a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner
  • Interview, hire and train employees
  • Lead, coach and direct the work of the employees on the team, including evaluating performance, and providing positive and constructive feedback
  • Mentor and act as a SME to team of Engineers
  • Have authority for personnel decisions; and have an impact on departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and procedural change

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or related degree) and 5+ years of experience. Preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Good understanding of HVAC equipment and/or components
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
  • PC skills including Microsoft office applications.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to travel one week a month for the first two years
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position
