Position Summary

The Division of Enrollment Management, Office of Admissions and Recruitment, is searching for a highly motivated person to join our recruitment team. This position will have responsibility for student recruitment of high school, transfer, and online students, and will be primarily located at UNM's Lobo Welcome Center. Daily activities will include interaction with prospective students and their families, public presentations, event planning, oral and written communication, and use and maintenance of student data bases.

This position may travel within New Mexico and out-of-state and will serve as a liaison and representative with internal and external constituencies, agencies, and institutions related to those activities to accomplish division enrollment goals.

The ideal candidate will be student focused and have an energetic personality and able to prepare and deliver small and large group presentations. The ability to work independently, complete assignments, and make professional and sound decisions is essential. There will be some required evening and weekend work at recruitment events and extensive travel is required to fulfill job duties.

Conditions of Employment
  • Ability to travel by vehicle or air, locally, statewide and/or out of state.
  • A valid driver's license, or ability to obtain a valid driver's license within thirty days of hire, is required for this job.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience working at a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Prior experience working with high school students in a higher education environment.
  • Prior experience delivering presentations to large and small groups.
  • The ability to read, write and speak fluently in English and Spanish.
