Summit Credit Union is looking for an individual to join our IT Department as a Sr. Systems Analyst. The primary responsibilities are: managing applications and systems throughout their lifecycle, including specification, acquisition, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, conversion, and deinstallation. The Sr. System Analyst is responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, including technology supported by vendors. The ideal candidate will have experience mentoring and training others by demonstrating analytical thinking, problem solving, and leadership.
Essential Functions
- Provide day to day applications, network, workstation, and server support
- Responsible for systems support delivered to desktops and subsequent systemic desktop support for such systems as (but not limited to): SCCM, HelpStar, SMA OpCon automation, Meridian Link, FICS, OTG, Outlook/Exchange, Passageways, SQL Server/Data Warehouse, and/or Synapsis. Ancillary systems support including Mobile, ATMs, CFM, CreditQuest, Laserpro, Access, Crystal Reports and/or Symform PFD.
- Provide IT Support group coverage, including answering inbound phone calls.
- Provide IT Processing group coverage, including fill in processing where required.
- Provide IT Desktop support, including software support, troubleshooting, and issue management with appropriate vendors.
- Document all problems reported and issues uncovered into HelpStar, track calls and maintain appropriate logs.
- Provide consultative support and services to the user community to ensure problem resolution, system/data access, and optimal system performance.
- Install, configure, and modify applications, networks, and other systems.
- Install, configure, and administer AIX servers and other products which support workstations and applications.
- Provide evening and weekend technical computing and applications support as required
- Work with vendors on moves, adds, and changes as necessary.
- Partner with team members to analyze and correct installation and support issues.
- Document procedures and processes.
- Monitoring and Process Improvement
- Alert appropriate personnel when critical IT systems malfunction.
- Maintain consistency and standardization of the workstation, server, and application environment.
- Develop and maintain expertise with workstation and server platforms and software applications supported by the IT department.
- Configure, maintain, and explain desktop security practices to end users.
- Contribute to improving the quality of the service provided by IT by actively participating in meetings and providing input.
- Stay current on emerging technologies and trends to aid in the integration, development, testing and support of Summit Credit Union systems.
- Project Work, Systems, and Application Testing and Deployment
- Gather end user requirements relevant to workstation, server, and applications issues from throughout the credit union and work closely with other IT staff to translate these into specifications.
- Provide recommendations regarding end user requirements and specifications to the IT Support and Operations Manager.
- Assist in the planning, testing, and deploying upgrades for desktop applications and hardware on credit union workstations and servers.
- Work in small teams with other IT Support and Operations staff to create test plans, complete testing, and coordinate applications, server, and workstation testing and installation.
- Work with vendors on moves, adds, and changes as necessary.
- Document procedures and processes.
- Understands and is accountable for executing all job functions in a way that is consistent with all requirements of BSA, OFAC and the USA Patriot Act/Customer Identification Act (CIP). Note: Failure to comply with requirements may be subject to strong disciplinary action, up to and including termination by the credit union, as well as, civil and criminal penalties.
- In addition to the above characteristics of a Systems Analyst, a Senior Systems Analyst will display these additional characteristics:
- A more thorough understanding, through project-based experience, of a wider range of financial systems: 6-9 primary systems and 4-6 ancillary systems
- 7-10 years experience (10-14 without a degree), specifically with financial systems analysis.
- Coordination with multiple other departments on complex test plans involved multiple systems.
- Integration work between systems.
- Ensuring compliance and compatibility between systems.
Job Specifications
- Professional well developed interpersonal skills essential for professional interaction with all levels of credit union staff under normal and adverse circumstances.
- Working knowledge of front and back office procedures in a financial institution is preferred.
- Knowledge equivalent to Associate Degree in IT or related field.
- Minimum of three years of computer and networking support with two years of PC hardware and software experience required.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time and projects with resources from within and outside department.
- Requires detailed, team oriented working style with the ability to apply critical thinking to resolve problems in new situations.
- Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems, Microsoft Office, virus protection, web browsers, and other network utilities.
- Experience performing software administration and support for both desktop and network based installations
- Experience performing administration of Exchange, SCCM, Antivirus, Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Server, Linux, Cisco, VoIP Phones, Citrix
- PC hardware knowledge with hands on experience including configuring, supporting and recommending hardware solutions.
- AIX, Ubuntu and Suse experience preferred.
- Industry desktop, networking and systems certifications
- Valid Driver's License
