What You'll Do:

Promote Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with OSHA and Vulcan standards.

Operate Heavy Equipment. Safely and competently operate an asphalt roller and additional equipment including, but not limited to a broom, skid steer, and screws on the screed. Drive this equipment in successive passes over terrain and/or asphalt to specified grade following marking on grade stakes or hand signals. Complete labor and or flag traffic on road construction sites as needed.

Inspect Equipment. Perform thorough inspections and accurately complete relevant documentation.

Maintain Equipment. Grease, oil, and perform minor repairs on the equipment.


Qualifications

Skills You'll Need:

Experience. A minimum of 3 years of related experience is preferred.

Operational Knowledge. Must be able to safely and competently operate all listed types of equipment.

Interpersonal Skills. Must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees. Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Basic Math Skills.

Flexibility. Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
