Sentara is currently hiring a Carpenter for Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk

This is a Full-Time position, 40 hours per week; located in Norfolk, VA.

Position Summary:

The Carpenter inspects, repairs, and maintains many types of systems associated within the carpentry field reads and interprets schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and specifications.

The Carpenter operates hand tools and power tools safely and according to manufacturers' instructions; uses protective measures to minimize safety risks to self and others while performing job duties; maintains parts, supplies, and equipment.

Essential personnel must be able to work weather related events and emergencies.

Job Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:

  • Required: Trade school graduate OR 3+ years carpenter experience in lieu of trade school
  • Required: Valid Virginia Drivers license ( proof of driving record may be required after manager interview).
  • Occasional weekend shifts/on-call required as needed
