DEPARTMENT: HOMEWORK CENTER / YOUTH POSITION TITLE: ACADEMIC MENTOR STATUS: REGULAR/NON-EXEMPT - PART-TIME COMPENSATION: $20.00 PER HOUR DIRECT SUPERVISOR: EDUCATION & YOUTH ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR UNIT: SEATTLE WHITE CENTER CORPS GENERAL STATEMENT: The Salvation Army is a branch of the Christian Church, and the ultimate goal of all programs is the spiritual regeneration of all people. FUNCTION OF POSITION: As an Academic Mentor, you will work to assist with developing and implementing relational programs for children, youth, and their families. Work to prepare vibrant, academically strong, and socially skilled students who are ready to flourish in life. Some duties include but are not limited to tutoring youth in grades Kindergarten through High School in various subjects, monitoring daily homework assignments, monitoring daily reading assignments, developing programs, and planning curriculum. SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday with occasional evenings, weekends, holidays Hours are subject to change during the summer EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
