JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Penn State Behrend Youth Education Outreach is seeking a part-time individual who is engaging, energetic, creative, and self-motivated. This K-12 STEM/STEAM Program Educator will work with the Youth Education Outreach Director and staff to lead on and off campus K-12 programming. Behrend's K-12 programs give area youth the opportunity to use the college's resources to participate in unique and exciting learning experiences. A successful candidate will be primarily responsible for creating, leading, and delivering hands-on STEM activities with students of all ages across all disciplines but primarily STEM fields. Responsibilities will also include coordinating with school districts, educators, Penn State Behrend faculty, staff and students, companies, as well as administrative duties related to this position. The capacity, creativity, and the ability to develop the curriculum, integrate Common Core Standards and create hands-on learning activities are required. This individual will work with companies, faculty and students to develop activities and research new opportunities in related STEM areas. The candidate must have outstanding organization skills, the ability to multi-task, operate with a high level of attention to detail and be proficient in MS Office. This candidate must also have a passion for sharing STEM/STEAM careers and possibilities with others.
