Job Summary:

The Lead Security Monitor is responsible for controlling facility access, guarding the property (via monitoring through surveillance and in person). Relays any concern to Program Director and Assistant Program Director(s) that might represent a danger to clients, staff, property and vehicles. Provides tech support when conducting investigations. The Lead Security Monitor is subject to work overtime and be on call. The Lead Security Monitor will maintain a flexible, organized and efficient work schedule.



Essential Functions:

    Keeps record of clients leaving the premises by recording the, date, time, transporting staff, vehicle number, destination and client/staff ratio within the vehicle.
  • Complete annual performance appraisals of employees under their direct supervision with final approval from Program Director.
  • Ensure the development of staff work schedules and recommend approval or dis-approval of personal leave requests, holiday leave requests, and/or sick leave requests to Program Director or designee.
  • Responsible for addressing employee performance issues in a timely manner and maintaining documentation of conversations. Must adhere to Southwest Key Programs' (SWK) disciplinary action policy and procedures (to include but not limited to: conference notes and written reprimands) in coordination and approval with Assistant Program Director and/or Program Director.
  • Keeps record of all vendors, service providers, attorneys, ICE and Border Patrol. Keeps a log record.
  • Responsible for inventory control of two way radios and other work related material, mobile work-station units and company vehicles.
  • Keeps control of the main gate access by providing remote surveillance and automated access control.
  • Provides constant monitoring of the surveillance system; provides support by informing department leads of any areas of concern.
  • Keeps record of all fire safety equipment including fire extinguishers, evacuation routes and assists with fire drills.
  • Monitors staff conduct, possession of contraband and property control.
  • Conducts perimeter checks several times during the shift.
  • Assists Youth Care Worker, Medical, Case Management and Clinical departments with headcount by providing support through the control center as the hub to locate client's location around the facility.
  • Performs other essential tasks as assigned.
  • Ensuring that all safety organizational safety initiatives are carried out/enforced at the program.
  • Maintain tracking system of vehicles, keys, two way radios, and other program supplies.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED with experience working with youth either through paid or unpaid positions preferred.
  • Must be computer literate and possess basic computer skills, such as data entry and usage of Microsoft Office. Must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule.
  • Cleared Tuberculosis test results.
  • Cleared background check from appropriate entity.
  • Cleared drug test results (this one is for Texas programs only)
  • ble to follow technical instructions.
  • Able to use and provide proper care of the surveillance system.
  • At least one year experience in the security and surveillance field

Preferred

  • Bilingual.
  • One (1) year supervisory experience.


Physical Demands:

Must be able to obtain Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification and First Aid Certification (CPR). Must be able to obtain the unarmed guard certification. Must be able to supervise clients indoors and outdoors by standing for long periods of time and for extended periods of time. Bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs required to complete daily tasks.



Work Environment:

This is a twenty four hour residential facility at which minors receive multiple services. Three shifts per twenty four hour period. Work shifts are subject to change. Noise levels vary from mild to moderate. Noise level varies from mild to moderate. Exposed to prevalent weather conditions.
