Add to favorites Favorited View favorites Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $15.48 - Midpoint: $18.56 (Hourly N2) Department/Organization: 219101 - University Libraries Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm Job Summary: The Library Public Services Assistant assists patrons in the use of the library and its resources. Creates, edits, and maintains records in libraries online database system. Supports various library units depending upon department assigned, any of the following: reserves and current periodicals, circulation, interlibrary loan, acquisitions and government documents, library ordering, purchasing and budgeting. Obtains and lends materials outside the University campus. Provides routine library facilities and equipment support. May supervise student workers. Additional Department Summary: This position is responsible for all operations in obtaining material for UA faculty and graduate students that are unavailable in the UA Libraries' collections. Initiating the borrowing process by performing bibliographic verification in OCLC and RLIN online databases and the internet; identifying appropriate sources for materials; ordering materials via OCLC, RAPID, or other appropriate methods. Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of library experience; OR associate's degree or higher and some library experience. Skills and Knowledge: Basic knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and email applications. Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing. Ability to interact in a positive manner with co-workers, patrons, and outside entities.
