What You Will Do:

Gannett Fleming TranSystems is seeking a creative, highly talented Structural Engineer to join our team in our Camp Hill, PA office or Valley Forge, PA office. Immediate start available.

Our team specializes in supporting heavy construction projects that demand unique problem-solving, the design of specialized equipment, and the development of complex phasing. In addition, we provide traditional structural design services for buildings, transit stations, industrial facilities, tunnels, water and wastewater facilities, and dam structures. Our structural engineers deliver value through innovative solutions and high-quality designs, leveraging building information modeling to enhance collaboration throughout the design and construction process.

This role requires professional experience in structural engineering, with involvement in a diverse range of projects, including building-related structures, transit facilities, industrial buildings, wastewater treatment facilities, and pump stations.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Perform and verify structural design and analysis computations to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Prepare construction plans for transit-related facilities, industrial structures, buildings, and other facility-related structures, including water and wastewater projects.
  • Develop contract documents, including plans, details, and specifications.
  • Review construction documents, such as shop drawings and contractor requests, to ensure alignment with design intent and standards.
  • Conduct structural observations for both existing and new structures to assess integrity and compliance.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports with clear, concise, and technical writing.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to entry-level engineers.
  • Perform finite element modeling for structural analysis and design.
  • Effectively manage schedules and budgets, ensuring timely and cost-efficient project delivery.
Education | Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering required.
  • PA Professional Engineer (PE) certification required.
  • Minimum five years of experience as a structural design engineer on wastewater, building, and/or transit-related projects.
  • Proficiency with ETABS, SAP2000, RAM Structural System, RAM Concept, STAAD, Mathcad, TEDDS, and other structural analysis and design software.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and REVIT for structural design.
  • Strong attention to detail with expertise in steel and concrete design.
  • Broad knowledge of engineering principles and practices in structural analysis and design.
  • Comprehensive understanding of building codes, technology, materials, material codes, equipment, design concepts, and construction techniques.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to multi-task and adjust priorities based on client needs and workload.
  • Proactive problem-solver with a strong research mindset.
  • Collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic environment.
