The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are currently seeking a Project Manager to join our Service team in Seattle, WA. In this role, you will develop and manage Service projects and complex repairs, using appropriate strategies and tactics to meet assigned goals and objectives. Additionally, some responsibilities you will have include:



  • Manage a sales pipeline to meet or exceed your individually assigned yearly projects revenue and gross margin goals.
  • Provide support to the client with regards to project financials, contractual and technical issues.
  • Work with a large client base including the owner and business leaders for the company.
  • Take ownership of projects as assigned by Manager.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact with the client during sales pursuit, project delivery, and project close-out.
  • Exercise global decision making by considering other departments within the company such as Special Projects Group, Engineering, Accounting, Purchasing, etc.
  • Assess site safety and implements actions to prevent injury to property and personnel.
  • Ensures safety compliance of subcontractors and all on-site personnel.
  • Facilitate timely invoice processing for clients, and timely processing of payments for subcontractors.
  • Takes responsibility for the development and implementation of a comprehensive construction plan.
  • Perform detailed financial management of projects to include billing, change orders, subcontracts, etc.


What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry



  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience is required
  • Two to five (2-5) years of project management experience in construction is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio required.
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes required.
  • Knowledge of equipment selection procedures. Includes layout of the equipment with required clearances and good design practices required.
  • Basic estimating skills required.
  • Certified Project Manager (CPM) or similar professional designation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of low voltage systems (HVAC Controls, etc.) is preferred.

The pay range for this position is $75,870 - $128,900 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
