About the Position:

The George Mason University Department of Modern and Classical Languages invites applications for Spanish Adjunct Faculty for Spring 2025. This position is a one-semester appointment with possibility for subsequent one-semester appointments. The department needs faculty who can teach 100- and 200- level Spanish language classes in all modalities, including face-to-face, online synchronous, and fully asynchronous. Our greatest need is for faculty available to teach face-to-face on the Fairfax campus.

Responsibilities:

• Teaches 100- and 200- level Spanish language classes in all modalities, including face-to-face, online synchronous, and fully asynchronous - Adjunct faculty can teach up to three sections per semester based on course availability and instructor preferences; and
• Attends a professional development workshop held in early January at the Fairfax campus in Virginia.

Required Qualifications:

• M.A. in Spanish (preferred in Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition or Pedagogy, or Latin American Studies);
• Experience teaching college-level language courses; and
• Candidates must be able to attend a professional development workshop held in early January at the Fairfax campus in Virginia.
