Position Summary

Position Summary:

The Director of People Capability for the Corporate Function will be a key leader in a highly matrixed, global organization. This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration, coordination, and communication with business unit (BU) People Capability Business Partners (PCBPs) across multiple geographies and time zones. The Director will partner with senior leadership and their global functional teams, serving as a consultant and advisor regarding people strategy, ensuring that Corporate goals are balanced with BU initiatives.

This position is responsible for leading People Capability strategy development and execution, representing Corporate priorities while aligning with the broader needs of business units. The ideal candidate will effectively collaborate with Centers of Excellence (CoEs) and partnering functions to ensure an integrated approach to HR solutions and people strategies across the company.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic HR Leadership in a Global Matrix Environment

  • Leads, manages and attains high performance of a team of PCBPs who are aligned to the global Corporate Function
  • Understands and keeps current on Corporate business objectives and ensuring the people strategy remains aligned to support and drive business objectives.
  • Develop and implement people strategies that align with overall Corporate and business unit goals.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, influencing and guiding on all People Capability related matters across functional teams globally.
  • Balance BU-specific initiatives with Corporate objectives, ensuring alignment and integration across regions and functions.
  • Identifies future people capability needs and proactively develop solutions to address any gaps by collaborating with leadership and people capability centers of expertise.
  • Partners with executive, senior management teams and PCBPs to identify, develop and drive global talent management programs & processes, succession plan retention of top talent, and facilitate talent movement across the business where applicable.
  • Collaborate with corporate leaders and PCBPs to drive global talent management programs, including recruitment, development, and retention of top talent.
  • Serve as a trusted change agent who expertly understands and communicates changes while actively capturing feedback and relaying that to continually improve.
  • Fosters an overall positive and productive experience for creators and teams.
  • Implements business change programs which may include mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures, restructuring or outsourcing initiatives, office relocations or changes, return to work initiatives, etc.
  • Utilize people capability metrics, market data and analytics to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with global labor laws and regulations, advising leadership on risks and proactive strategies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Coordination

  • Partner closely with PCBPs from different geographies to ensure HR solutions are consistently aligned with Corporate priorities and BU needs.
  • Facilitate global coordination and collaboration across People Capability and other key business functions, ensuring alignment of people strategies in a matrix environment.
  • Ensure effective communication and execution of People Capability initiatives across time zones and cultural perspectives.

Culture & Engagement

  • Serve as a consultant to Centers of Excellence (e.g., Talent Acquisition, People Tech & Operations, Total Rewards, Learning & Development), advising on people strategies that represent the priorities of the Corporate function and its client groups.
  • Effectively develops and maintains relationships with members of the leadership team to serves as a trusted advisor providing guidance on talent strategy, organizational effectiveness, and change management initiatives.
  • Coaches PCBPs along professional acumen lines and consistently embodies high performance and company values as a positive role model.
  • Champions the company as a Great Place to Work and seeks to improve the creator value proposition internally and externally.
  • Strives to enhance creator engagement by fostering individual and team behaviors that drive peak productivity and overall satisfaction.

Employee Relations

  • Advise senior leaders, global functional teams and creators on day-to-day and strategic employee relations matters, fostering a positive, inclusive, and legally compliant work environment.
  • Develops relationships with creators across corporate functions and maintains frequent contact to keep a pulse on their sentiment beyond what engagement surveys provide and uses this information to shape management and people capability support.

Organizational Design

  • Lead the implementation of succession planning strategies that ensure a strong leadership pipeline across Corporate functions and build added capabilities where required.
  • Effectively conducts regular individual and group meetings to drive KPO achievement, coordinate work, and collaborate with key stakeholders.
  • Leads organizational design including refined or new operating models, ways of working, project or program governance, career architecture, etc.
  • Drive leadership development initiatives, ensuring that leaders at all levels have the necessary skills to manage, inspire, and develop global teams at Light & Wonder.

  • Champion DEI initiatives, collaborating with the Talent team to promote diverse hiring practices and inclusive workplace cultures across the global organization.

Other

  • Travel to regional locations estimated at less than 20% of work time.
  • Adheres to health & safety requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Performs any other duties as required.
Qualifications

Education/Certification

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience, in Human Resources, Business Administration, psychology or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) a plus.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 10+ years of HR experience, with at least 2 years of managerial responsibility managing direct reports in a matrixed, global organization.
  • Strong experience in partnering with senior leadership and managing HR in a complex, cross-functional environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and lead across global teams and geographies.
  • Experience in the gaming or entertainment industry is a plus.
  • Proven ability to balance and align Corporate goals with business unit initiatives.
