Community Engagement Manager

Habitat for Humanity of Snohomish County (Habitat) brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. We serve our communities by building, repairing, and preserving decent and affordable homes in Snohomish County. In partnership with the community, businesses, faith organizations and individuals, we work towards eliminating substandard housing, establishing housing stability, and creating more equitable opportunities for affordable housing in our neighborhoods.

The Community Engagement Manager is a key relationship builder for Habitat whose purpose is to initiate, cultivate and steward authentic relationships with groups and individuals in our community. The Community Engagement Manager represents and builds awareness of Habitat, its mission and programs and aims to grow engagement of current and potential partners, donors, volunteers and supporters. The Community Engagement Manager also oversees all aspects of volunteer activities within the organization including the engagement of a diverse group of volunteers to support the various components of our mission along with coordinating special volunteer programs and projects.

Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement
Develop and implement a comprehensive community engagement strategy to build awareness of Habitat and identify, engage and steward potential partners, donors, volunteers and supporters.
Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, community and civic organizations, faith communities, academic institutions, corporations, local businesses and other members of the community.
Identify and coordinate speaking engagements and presentations to represent Habitat, its mission and engagement opportunities in the community.
Represent Habitat at community events.
Develop, train and oversee a volunteer Community Outreach/Special Events Team to build awareness of Habitat in the community through events, fairs, booths, tabling and other outreach activities.
Coordinate events and oversee community engagement, cultivation, and stewardship activities and other initiatives.
Act as point of contact and liaison for corporate sponsors, volunteer groups and other community groups.
Gather and analyze feedback from the community to inform the organization's decisions and strategies.

Volunteer Program Management
Develop and oversee a volunteer program to solicit, engage, maintain and recognize volunteers for stores, construction, events and special projects; document procedures, monitor volunteer satisfaction and assist with volunteer issues.
Oversee the onboarding and orientation of volunteers including skills identification, assignments, completing background checks, and ensuring that volunteer liability waivers are signed and filed
Maintain volunteer database and keep records of volunteer activities, including numbers of teams, volunteers, number of hours worked, contact information, etc.
Collaborate with the Director of Housing and Director of Retail Operations to develop systems and responsibilities for managing site volunteers, volunteer recognition and ensuring a consistent approach is delivered across the affiliate.
Coordinate, schedule and engage with volunteer groups.
Manage community service volunteers from local jurisdictions
Manage AmeriCorps program for the affiliate. Act as Host Site Manager.
Recruit interns based on the needs of the organization; serves as liaison between intern and school
Manage Youth Engagement program to increase engagement of youth and parents with Habitat
Produce reports on the affiliate's volunteer activities and provide volunteer department input for annual planning and budgets
Other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director

Essential Qualifications
Have a strong passion for and be able to articulate the mission, values, and goals of Habitat for Humanity of Snohomish County.
Previous experience managing or working with volunteers
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Has experience with public speaking and is comfortable speaking in front of large groups
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, internally and externally, with groups and individuals.
Effective leadership and team building skills
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments at any given time
Maintain a high level of integrity and discretion while working with confidential and sensitive data
Self-motivated, reliable and enthusiastic; able to work with and motivate people with diverse backgrounds and capabilities.
Ability to learn and adapt to a changing environment and unexpected shifts in priorities
A willingness to assist team members and pitch in when needed
Proficiency in office technology including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365 Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, SharePoint), Dropbox, Adobe Acrobat
Background check required.

Salary range ($52,000 - $58,000)
