Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY: The HIM Coding & System Specialist works inpatient and/or outpatient coding related holds/edits/incomplete coding accounts. Codes basic entry level, coding outpatient diagnostics accounts to meet Corporate Unbilled standard, as needed. Works closely with physician offices , and ancillary departments in obtaining missing information to appropriately code the account, query follow-up's and participates in the operations of the department to ensure chart and documentation availability. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: 1. 1-2 years medical records/ healthcare related field experience or Coding Certificate. 2. Knowledge of medical terminology. 3. Interpersonal skills required. 4. Knowledge of computers, copy machine, microfilm and reader printer preferred 5. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer. 6. Must be able to travel between facilities as needed. EDUCATION / LICENSURE: 1. High School diploma, GED, or Higher Education required. 2.
