Georgia-Pacific is now hiring a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Lead Operator Technician at our Plywood facility in Gurdon, Arkansas. The Lead Operator Technician will have responsibility for operating and maintaining the automated equipment in the Finishing and Shipping department at the site. There will be some traveling associated with this role during the onboarding and training period.

What You Will Do
* Operate and maintain automated/robotic equipment to include panel repair and packaging equipment. Will also support the department as needed with technical support and perform operational duties as needed.
* Ensure equipment is clean (like new) and perform preventative maintenance on equipment to correct mechanical/electrical problems before machine fails.
* Utilize mechanical and basic electrical skills and knowledge to maximize machine performance, identify root cause failures, and apply long-term solutions to achieve production and quality goals.
* Inspect equipment and communicate with operations to identify and prioritize maintenance needs.
* Support continuous process improvements through facility engagement, as well as systems optimization.
* Communicate to department manager and supervisors on any maintenance, quality, and/or production issues as they arise.
* Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures while actively participating in the safety program.
* Must be willing and able to work a flexible work schedule and work on-call/call-in hours for maintenance issues and overtime/nights and weekends as needed.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
* Two (2) or more years of maintenance technical support experience in a manufacturing or military environment
* At least two (2) years of manufacturing experience or industrial maintenance experience OR High School Diploma/GED equivalent OR completion of a 2-year technical trade school program

What Will Put You Ahead
* Associate's Degree in a technical field such as electrical, mechanical, or similar trades
* Experience working as an electrical/mechanical craft or plant technician
* Experience working as a Team Lead with mechanical/electrical experience
* Experience operating complex automated equipment with HMI interface, metering devices, encoders, hydraulics, pneumatics, i.e. robots
* Experience with precision alignment of motors, couplings, bearings and pumps, lubrication
