Area Sales Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop, implement, and manage the account strategy that is focused on share of wallet growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Each day, you will coordinate sales activities, monitor current projects, and manage the resolution of specific customer problems. You will also showcase your expertise by giving input on market price developments and tendencies.
The work model for the role is: remote (Li-Remote), but the candidate must be located in Reno, Nevada.
This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Buildings division in the Reno market.
You will be mainly accountable for:
* Plan and implement sales strategies to maximize market share and margin; motivate contractors to prefer ABB over the competition
* Ownership of the contractor accounts; responsible for maintaining relationships at all levels of organization; developing and monitoring growth plans; marketing programs; training
* Perform take-off's and develop cost effective proposals from project plans and specifications for electrical distribution and control equipment and services.
* Provide market feedback, competitive intelligence and hit-rate information to business and sales leadership

Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred and a minimum of 10 years of industry experience in sales.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical industry and switchgear products, as well as experience working with distributors and electrical contractors in the Reno market.
  • Ability to apply Six Sigma to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to utilize analytical software and sales tools.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $92,500 and $171,500 annually and is bonus eligible.
