Southwire Job Description

Principal Objective:
This person is responsible for directing the day-to-day activities of the quality technicians in monitoring product quality to ensure compliance with all applicable UL, CSA, and special customer requirements. Assist management and supervision in engineering solutions to quality related problems. Monitor and implement quality control procedures at the manufacturing level. Quality improvements pertaining to product quality, service quality, and the quality system in general, are the typical objectives to be met in keeping with the company philosophy of continuous improvement and Southwire's "Culture of Zero". Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers, and supervisors.

Primary Duties:

* Direct the work performed by the quality technicians. Establish and direct daily activities as well as assigning projects and monitoring progress.
* Ensure compliance with all applicable ISO, UL, CSA, Industry, and special customer requirements.
* Responsible for daily application of the Quality Management System such as Corrective Action System, Document Control, Calibration, Training etc.
* Lead quality improvement efforts using problem solving tools to resolve quality issues and achieve stable and predictable process results. (8D and DMAIC problem solving experience a plus)
* Assist in the development of projects relative to error proofing, process aids and continuous improvement.
* Collect and analyze production and defect data to perform various Quality related studies.
* Assist in the training and development of personnel relative to defect root cause analysis
* Work in various software platforms. SAP, Advaris, QCBD, etc.
* Create Quality Test Plans in Advaris
* Work with suppliers on Quality Issues.
* Provide hands-on assistance to manufacturing departments in resolving quality problems.
* Assist in the development of manufacturing processes that assure product quality through researching manufacturing methods and statistical analysis

Desirable Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, or Physical Sciences
ASQ CQE or ability to obtain ASQ CQE within two years.
Experience: 3-7 years of quality experience which demonstrates the following:
Initiative - the ability to see an opportunity and act upon it.
Detail orientation - the ability to complete the project referred to under initiative
Technical skills - the ability to analyze and solve problems.
Communication skills - the ability to train and work with fellow employees.
Must possess excellent verbal and written skills.
Microsoft office especially Excel experience is needed
ISO 9001:2015 training
SAP, UL, CSA, and Lean experience is a plus
