Position Summary:

The Supervisor Food Service reports to the Food Service Manager. This position supervises the work activities of food preparation for patients, visitors and staff. This position also maintains quality control by testing food for temperature, taste, proper portioning, appearance, etc. This position is also responsible for scheduling employees within budgeted labor hours. Duties may vary according to assigned area or shift.

Education/Experience:

High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred.

One to two years Supervisory experience preferred.

Barista experience required.

Knowledge/Skills:




  • Knowledge of food service, food preparation services and sanitation procedures.
  • Interpersonal skills for effective leadership of non-exempt and bargaining unit employees, and to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with department and hospital staff.
  • Problem-solving skills necessary to deal effectively with routine and minor problems occurring within area of responsibility.
  • Ability to prepare simple reports (e.g. incident and attendance reports), perform arithmetic calculations, keep records, and supervise food service employees.
  • The analytical ability to schedule and coordinate work flow to ensure efficiency and effective operations.



Shift:

Full Time (40 hours)

Evening Shift, 11:30am - 8:00pm

Weekend work required

Salary Range: Minimum 17.86 per hour - Maximum 31.26 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
