Biostatistician (Research Assistant Professor)
Department of Medical Oncology

The West Virginia University (WVU) School of Medicine, located in Morgantown, WV, seeks an innovative, dynamic, and collaborative researcher and mentor to serve as Biostatistician (Research Assistant Professor) non-tenure, in the Department of Medical Oncology in the Cancer Institute.

We are seeking a skilled Biostatistician to join our team at the Cancer Institute. The successful candidate will assist in statistical design consultation, data management, and data analysis to advance the scientific goals of various projects. This role involves collaboration with investigators, designing statistical analysis plans, and preparing reports.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Serve as a liaison for multisite projects/grants/awards, communicating and troubleshooting with collaborator hospitals.
  • Collaborate with investigators to develop objectives, design sampling, randomization, and statistical analysis plans.
  • Design tables and statistical procedures for specific research studies.
  • Assist with writing statistical design, methods, and analysis for manuscripts and research proposals.
  • Analyze data and prepare tables for interim and final reports.
  • Prepare written reports of statistical analyses.
  • Apply new statistical methodologies.
  • Maintain data for research reporting requirements.
  • Participate in staff training, professional development, and program seminars, conferences, and workshops.
  • Assist the Chair of Medical Oncology with complex manuscripts and projects.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in statistical software (Stata, SAS, R)
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.


An on-campus office is provided, with opportunities for hybrid work.
