Summary of Job Duties:The Clinical Application Training Specialist supports the organization's dedication to patient and family centered care by providing efficient education of the electronic heath record (EHR). The successful candidate should have a strong knowledge of Hospital and Clinic workflows and adult education theory. This is a dynamic role which will require strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact with operational and informational technology stakeholders in a variety of disciplines. Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare or related field plus three (3) years experience or 3 years clinical experience in support area or similar.

OR

  • Associates Degree with Clinical Licensure in Education Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare or related field plus five (5) years of experience or 5 years clinical experience in support area or similar.

OR

  • Associates Degree in Education Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare or related field plus Epic Certification plus five (5) years of experience or 5 years clinical experience in support area or similar.

Preferred:

  • BSN with Clinical Licensure or a Master's Degree in Education Technology, health-related or similar
  • Experience as an educator in an academic medical center and/or academic setting with demonstrated leadership in assessing educational outcomes and utilizing technological resources to improve learning efficiency or experience in a clinical practice; understanding of clinical workflows; clinical, access, or revenue cycle experience is a bonus
  • Experience in Training Tracker, SAP, and Adobe Creative Cloud products.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Epic curriculum architecture for Access Staff - supporting all elements of training planning, design, development and implementation for designated application(s).
  • Assists leadership with training strategy for designated application(s).
  • Partners with IT, Clinical Informatics and Operational resources to ensure efficient use of the EHR.
  • Participates in the development of training policies and requirements for designated application(s).
  • Responsible for supporting all elements of training planning, design, development and implementation for designated application(s).
  • Responsible for development of detailed, workflow-based curriculum for designated application(s).
  • Responsible for building, testing and maintaining the training environment for designated application(s).
  • Maintains training curriculum, training environment, and delivers ongoing education. Provides input on the appropriate level of training (time, delivery method) for each user in designated application(s).
  • Develop appropriate proficiency measures for training. Conducts training for designated application(s).
  • Delivers instructor-led training for credentialed trainers, super user and end user audiences.
  • Must be currently certified or obtain certification in primary designated Epic application(s).
  • Prior knowledge of UAMS Clinical workflows, revenue cycle, or business operations a plus.
  • Attends status meetings held by the training team and their designated application team(s).
  • Ensures deliverables are approved by the appropriate members of the project team and are completed in accordance with the overall training strategy.
  • May also attend change control meetings and other meetings as needed.
